A Free Adult Content Blocker With Built-In Accountability

Breaking free from porn addiction requires accountability. So I built an adult content blocker that notifies your accountability partners when you try to disable it.

Quitting porn addiction is not easy. It requires a lot of accountability, which can suddenly disappear when you’re alone in a room.

So I built an adult content blocker with a twist: accountability partners.

How It Works

In the app, you can add as many accountability partners as you want. When you want to disable the web adult filter, the app lets you — but it immediately notifies all your accountability partners with a push notification, so they can check up on you.

The app also combats other ways of getting around the filter with push notifications.

Accountability partner notification when adult content filter is disabled

All your partners have 24/7 read access to see whether you have the adult web filter enabled or not. No hiding, no cheating — just honest accountability.

Why Accountability Matters

Willpower alone often isn’t enough. Having people who care about you watching your back makes a real difference. The fear of that notification going out is often enough to make you pause and reconsider.

It’s Free

All the accountability partner features mentioned in this post are 100% free. The app offers a subscription, but that’s for completely separate features like location-based rules and screen time controls.

The app is called ScrollBump — originally built to combat doomscrolling, but I added these adult content blocking features because the accountability system was already in place and works perfectly for this use case too.
